Meet Vetnah Monessar – A Mother, Leader, and Advocate for Change
Vetnah Monessar’s journey with TFH is profoundly personal and marked by remarkable accomplishments. As an Executive Director in the non-profit sector, she is dedicated to advocating for humanitarian causes at local, state, national, and international levels. Her path has been shaped by personal loss; the passing of her beloved son left an unfillable void, yet rather than allowing grief to consume her, she chose to honor his memory through purposeful action.
For years, Vetnah sought a way to transform her pain into purpose. She has witnessed firsthand the struggles families face—especially in underserved communities—when trying to access quality care and support for their children. This experience fueled her commitment to making a difference.
Her extensive professional background includes significant contributions to advocacy and political campaigns across various regions, including Africa, Pakistan, and the Middle East. Vetnah played a pivotal role in raising 22% of the Muslim vote, making her the first Muslim woman to be hired for a presidential campaign. Her work in this arena has led to notable recognition, including a congressional record for her leadership in human rights activism, where she helped pass critical human rights legislation.
Vetnah’s career reflects her ability to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies, lead grant proposal development, and effectively manage teams and volunteers. Her expertise spans strategic planning, organizational development, program management, and grassroots organizing.

When Vetnah met Syma Chaudhry, she recognized a kindred spirit—someone with an equally relentless drive to create change. Their stories, though distinct, were united by the same determination: if the system fails us, we must build something better ourselves. Together, they founded ‘TFH’ The First Hope Center, a sanctuary not just for therapy, but a safe space where families can find support, understanding, and world-class care for their children.
